01 / Design the mission

Built around your payload.

Together, we define your mission and shape the spacecraft around your instrument, from power and pointing to communications.

02 / Build & test

Prepared for the journey.

We build your spacecraft, integrate your instrument and test them together, verifying what matters for your mission, with the evidence to match.

03 / Launch

Next stop. Orbit.

Spacecraft and launch, coordinated through one mission contract. We arrange your flight with specialist launch partners.

04 / Operate in orbit

In orbit. At work.

We commission and operate your satellite, or help your team take control. The data your mission collects belongs to you. We never resell it.

Your mission.
Our engineering.
Space, within reach.

Whether it’s a camera observing Earth, a receiver tracking ships or an experiment testing new technology in orbit, we build the satellite around the equipment you want to fly.

You bring the instrument and its software. We bring the power, pointing, communications and engineering to get it working in space. For commercial teams, researchers and government missions.

Meet the engineering behind it

Your instrument sits in a space designed around it, connected to the systems that power it, point it and bring its data back to Earth.Together, they make a complete satellite.

BUILT TO BE VERIFIED

Small details.
Big stakes.

Every interface matters. Every test has a purpose. We bring mechanical, electrical and embedded engineering together, with testing and documentation matched to the mission. The evidence you need, without unnecessary paperwork.

  1. Define what it must do.
  2. Test what it must withstand.
  3. Verify it does the job.

From the first question.
To the first signal.

One contract across your agreed mission scope.
Design, integration, launch coordination and operations.

01

Mission design

Give it a flight plan.

Your instrument sets the requirements. Together we define the orbit, power, data links and platform configuration.

02

Assembly & test

Build it. Prove it.

Your payload joins the spacecraft in Germany. Integration and testing check that they work together under the conditions your mission demands.

03

Launch

Clear the way to orbit.

We coordinate launch partners, dispenser integration and fit checks for a rideshare or dedicated launch.

04

Operations

Bring the signal home.

We commission and operate the satellite, then deliver your data. It stays yours. Customer-run operations can be part of the scope.

A radio receiver and a camera. One small satellite.

DLR’s OTTER mission brings two views of maritime activity together: signals from vessels and optical imagery. German Orbital Systems built, tested and operated the spacecraft, then handed it over for DLR to operate.

EDUCATION & NONPROFIT RESEARCH

Start with a question.
Build toward an answer.

For universities, research groups and nonprofits, a mission can begin with a field of study or a question. You do not need a finished instrument or an in-house space engineering team.

We work with you on research and development, explore what is feasible and turn the concept into mission requirements.

Built on engineering.

INDEPENDENT THINKING. SINCE 2014.

We started in Germany with a belief: ambitious space missions should have a practical path to orbit.

Born from Technische Universität Berlin, German Orbital Systems brings together more than 30 specialists in spacecraft design, electronics, flight software, testing and mission operations. We help customers fly their first technology demonstration, accommodate unusual payloads and build the foundations of future constellations.
